Barlan I am very interested in the Rhodesian Ridgeback
since I read about them in the Dog Fancy Magazine. I have never
fallen in love with a dog simply by pictures and article, however,
I have this time. I love the dogs I have now, but one day I would
love to have a Rhodesian Ridgeback join my family. I would also
like to know more about them. As far I have found, there are no
Rhodesian Ridgebacks locally.

the SPCA he is registered, the people who owned him gave him up
at 1 in a half years old because he got to big and hard to handle.
We have had Ike for going on 6 years, he had a check up yesterday
and he now weighs 126 pounds and healthy. he is buiteful he looks
like Maddison. Ike is my baby boy! I love it when we are walking
him and people ask what kind of dog is he. my baby is crazy and
spoiled rotten and loves the woods. We want to get him a friend
but I dont think he will share us or his room with any other dog!!!!!

Lavallee I adopted a dog last January and came to
find out that he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback. He was said to be a
lab-mix but in researching I found that he looks identical to
the Rhodesians and acts a lot like them as well. He has a ridge
but it is not prominent at all times. I guess he couldn't be Championship
material. Several people on the streets who know the breed have
told me that he is definitely a Rhodesian. Is there any definitive
method of varifying this for sure?? Thanks for any help you can
provide.

Nemson My 28 month old Rhodesian is a dead ringer
for Maddison. His name is Tanner and is not a show dog as we chose
not to. His mother, father,sis and 2 brothers are tough. We love
him dearly and arrange our life around him...including renting
a 9 foot motor home (without telling the dealer we had a dog coming)
and the 3 of us vacationed in the Florida Keys...We had a ball
swimming and watching the sun set ....we're so happy we found
this breed.

of this years "show", and compare them to your pictures,

What kind of expense are we looking at for a female - pet quality
vs. show quality? Time does not permit us to get involved in shows

are such an amazingly gentle
breed, how is it that cats love to sleep with them, our cats kittens
used to sleep up on our Kathys chest, i didnt get a photo of
it. Another thing i have noticed over the last ten years of being
a RR playmate is that a present or past RR owner will notice
another RR at the other end of the beach, or parked outside a
shop and make a special effort to talk or comment about them.
